Welcome
I'm glad you've found your way here. I imagine you're interested in understanding more about me, my experience and approach to therapy and how we might work together. I hope through what I share here you will begin to get a sense of whether this therapeutic relationship has the potential to support you at this time in your life with whatever is bringing you to therapy.
I practice depth psychotherapy - a facilitated process of self-discovery recognising and learning to be in relationship with what's beneath the surface that we might not be so aware of.
My approach is trauma and attachment informed - I value relational safety and have additional training in complex trauma and attachment theory.
I have lots of experience in working in the trauma, grief and loss space both in my private practice and in an acute medical setting.
I work both in person and online with people seeking support to safely navigate life's inevitable challenges in whatever way they show up. This process often develops people's capacity to bring greater awareness, understanding and compassion to their inner and outer experiences and strengthen trust in accessing inner wisdom and resources.
Sessions are highly relational and collaborative, usually meeting at first either weekly or fortnightly in an ongoing way with regular reviews to reflect together on the direction we are going in. I work with people both long and short term.
I also offer meditation and mindfulness mentoring in person and online. This is highly individualised support to develop or deepen a sustainable meditation or mindfulness practice tailored to meet current needs and lifestyle. Through a diverse range of practices I support people with all levels of experience to develop awareness of and connection with their inner knowing, wisdom and resources. These approaches to meditation and mindfulness may include body centred sensory awareness, self-compassion and guided imagery.
I am deeply committed to my relationship with nature, continue to attend experiential wilderness immersions with Animas Valley Institute (US) guides through Soulcraft Australia and New Zealand and have a depth of experience facilitating ecopsychospiritual circles to remember and deepen connection to nature within and without. This co-creation of sacred space acknowledges, honours and collaborates with both seen and unseen allies in nature.
Circles are currently on hold at this time as my energies are directed into my private psychotherapy practice and my role as a non-religious spiritual care practitioner in a local public hospital.
