A place to come to for written & audio practices that can support your therapeutic journey or meditation/mindfulness practice.
Grounding through the 5 Senses & Breath Handout
Grounding can be physically, mentally or emotionally soothing (or any combination). In relation to fear, it can offer present moment safety and stabilisation. Often grounding is a valuable first response resource when fear arises.
No one practice will be right for everyone all of the time and it can be helpful to experiment with a practice regularly enough to find out what will be most supportive.
You may find you need different practices at different times and that one works better for you than another depending on the circumstance. Just like exercise, by practicing using a technique regularly it will make it easier to draw on it as a resource when you experience increased discomfort. It can be useful to have a copy of your chosen technique with you most of the time and in multiple places so it is easily accessible.
